The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) has issued a statement warning BC drivers to prepare and beware of flooding.
According to BCs Ministry of Environment, warmer temperatures and snowmelt combined with high volume precipitation could increase the risk of rising water in the coming weeks.
ICBC recommends finding a safe location on high ground for the temporary storage of vehicles located in low-lying areas that may be subject to flooding, a press release says.
The insurer also warns that after driving through deep water, a cars brakes may pull to one side or not work at all, creating a higher risk for collisions.

Corporations and individuals are welcome to assist the Vaughan (Ontario) Business Exchange (VBE) in raising money to support the ‘Sapper Mike McTeague Wounded Warrior Fund’ through sponsorship of, or donations to the upcoming annual VBE Golf Tournament to be held May 29, 2007 at Nobelton Lakes Golf Club.
All proceeds from the VBE Golf Tournament are to be donated to the Sapper Mike McTeague Wounded Warrior Fund which supports Canadian service members who are wounded during operations (see www.woundedwarriors.ca).
The VBE is a referral-based networking group comprised of local business people that donates a portion of its annual membership fees to charities.
The 2007 VBE Golf tournament has chosen the Wounded Warrior Fund as its benefactor for this year’s tournament.
