Tom Reikman has been appointed to the position of senior vice president, marketing, of Aviva Canada Inc.
In his new role, Reikman will be responsible for leading the corporation marketing team and working closely with the regional teams and broker partners to continue to build Avivas market presence, an Aviva release says.
He brings extensive industry experience spanning leadership roles in marketing, underwriting and technology for major p&c companies, the statement says.
Reikman most recently held the position of president of a large Canadian wholesale insurer.

Ontario shoppers are getting auto insurance quotes that are on average 21% cheaper than what they were getting this time last year, according to a kanetix, an online quote comparing Web site for the Canadian marketplace.
Kanetix compared the average lowest auto insurance premium quoted through the site in the first three months of 2007 with the average lowest premium quoted for the same period in 2006.
For the last while in the auto insurance industry, increased competition has led to more aggressive marketing, new innovative features, discounts, and most importantly, lower insurance rates, Gregory Ellis, co-founder of kanetix said in a statement.
The trend, he added, is continuing into 2007.
