Specialized directors and officers (D&O) liability insurance created specifically for small micro-cap companiesthe Micro Cap Preferred policyis now being offered by Chubb Insurance Company of Canada.
A D&O liability lawsuit, including settlement, judgment and legal expenses, can cost millions of dollars, David Williams, senior vice president, Canadian manager for Chubb Specialty Insurance, said in a release. For a small public company, this could be financially devastating.
The policy provides multiple coverage enhancements in a single endorsement that is automatically added at no additional cost to existing customers. It is geared towards publicly traded companies with market capitalization of Cdn$250 million and under if traded only on the Canadian Exchange and Cdn$100 million and less for those trading on a U.S. Exchange.

Johnson Inc. of Royal & SunAllianceis now offering one air mile for every $20 (including taxes) of premium paid on regular market home and auto insurance policies underwritten by Unifund Assurance Company.
At Johnson, we are excited to join the elite coalition of AIR MILES sponsors, Ken Bennett, president of Johnson Inc., said in a press release. We are continually reevaluating our product offering and service delivery to ensure we are able to offer a value proposition that is unmatched in the marketplace.
I believe that by becoming an AIR MILES Reward Program Sponsor, we have provided our policyholders with added value and have further differentiated Johnson from other insurance providers in the market today.
