La Capitale General Insurance and Michelin have joined forces to promote safer winter driving in Quebec.
As an insurer, La Capitale General Insurance feels a sense of responsibility towards the safety of Quebecers and wishes to take part in any effort aimed at reducing the number of automobile accidents, which in turn protects the life of drivers and their passengers, a La Capitale General Insurance release notes.
It is essential to equip a vehicle with a good set of winter tires, which is why Michelin will give $50 to every customer who purchases a set of four new winter tires before Nov. 30, 2007, according to the release. If the customer has an automobile insurance policy with La Capitale General Insurance, they will receive an additional $50.

Insurance Corporation of British Columbia is urging motorists to use extra caution this Thanksgiving long weekend when heading out to visit family and friends.
Every time you drive, regardless if the trip is long or short, road safety should be your first priority, John Les, solicitor general, said in a release. Oftentimes in fall weather conditions, we need to adjust our driving behaviour to do our part to reduce crashes and save lives. Remember that posted speed limits are for ideal weather conditions and maximum visibility.
According to a release from ICBC, this long weekend sees on average more than 1,580 crashes on roads in British Columbia, resulting in 540 injuries and four fatalities and costs ICBC customers more than Cdn$12.4 million in claims costs.
