Work is now underway to extend the Autorite des marches financiers (AMF) and Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) Company Complaint Reporting System to other provinces, according to the Canadian Council of Insurance (CCIR) fall meeting highlights.
Interested regulators have been asked to sign a letter of intent before the end of 2007, after which the AMF and FSCO will undertake the system work required for the expansion, the highlights note.
The joint initiative between FSCO and AMF to change the complaint reporting requirements was done with the idea to reduce duplication and to harmonize regulatory reporting, FSCO notes on its Web site.
Companies were required to move from reporting aggregate complaint data to reporting complaints on a case-by-case basis. The data collection supports a risk-based market conduct regulatory framework, FSCO reports.

The 2008 RIMS Canada Conference has released its official show prospectus. The conference is scheduled to be held in Toronto from Sept. 21 to Sept. 24, 2008.
The plan is to transform the Sheraton Conference Centre Exhibit Hall into a Vintage Hollywood movie set, according to a release.
The excitement level is building, given the unique possibilities for themed branding, giveaways and increased traffic throughout the hall, the release notes. Take advantage of this opportunity to make face-to-face contact with more than 500 corporate customers in the risk management industry.
