Peter Phillips has been appointed managing director of Aon Capital Markets.
The department is responsible for variable annuity hedging and consulting and related asset management services.
Based in Toronto, Phillips earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics.
In his role at Aon, Phillips will lead a team in consulting with direct writers to review and improve their variable annuity product development, pricing, valuation efforts and hedge program performance. The team will act on an agency basis to assist in the management of hedge program activities.
Phillips has 19 years of capital markets experience. He has worked for banks and global insurance companies in Europe and in North America.

In support of Women In Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC), Guy Carpenter & Company Canada Ltd. is hosting a Charity Casino Royale Night.
The event will be held on May 22, from 6-10 p.m., at the Four Seasons Hotel. Prizes will be drawn throughout the evening.
The Texas Hold’em tournament begins at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $400. All net proceeds will be donated to WICC and can be purchased by RSVP-ing to Daniela Tongeuzzo at Daniela.Tongeuzzo@guycarp.com.
