To recognize and encourage students pursuing careers in commercial brokerages, the Toronto Insurance Conference (TIC) has created the Commercial Brokers Award in association with Fanshawe College.
An award of Cdn$1,500 will be presented annually for the next five years to a second-year student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and no failures or withdrawals, the TIC states in a release. The student will have demonstrated interest in entering the commercial insurance brokerage field upon graduation.
The first award ceremony for the Commercial Brokers Award will be held at Fanshawe’s School of Business on Oct. 15, 2008.

PPG’s 2008 import and domestic colour information books now include a SideView Window that allows users to place a color chip page over any part of the vehicle to identify the OEM code that best matches the required repair.
The SideView Window provides an opening adjacent to each colour chip.
In addition, both books feature color chips mounted on special gray paper that improves a technician’s ability to see subtle differences between similar colors.
“One of the most critical processes that occurs in a bodyshop is color identification and PPG is dedicated to continuously improving the color tools we offer,” Mike Henry, manager of color print and electronic tools for PPG Automotive Refinish, said in a release. “Our customers told us what they wanted and we responded with a world-class, user-friendly tool that will help technicians find colors accurately and efficiently.”
The two books provide comprehensive coverage of vehicles being repaired in Canada today, PPG notes in a release.
