Liquidation World Inc. has imported and sold children’s restraint systems and booster seats from the United States that did not comply with the applicable Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, a Transport Canada (TC) bulleting warns.
Approximately 145 of the units were imported and distributed to stores in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick and Ontario, a TC public notice says.
A B.C. consumer purchased one of the travel systems and proceeded to a car seat clinic for an installation check, the bulletin says. The clinic technician informed her that the infant restraint did not comply with the applicable Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
Shortly after this incident in B.C. was reported, a consumer in Ontario purchased an infant/child seat and reported the missing national safety mark to the manufacturer.
TC has passed this information to the importer and requested that Liquidation World remove all non-complying stock from their stores.
