The Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) Golden Horseshoe Committee is hosting its second annual pub night.
The ’70s-inspired evening will be held on Oct. 2 at the Arnie Pub at Mohawk College.
The fundraiser will be a “groovy” evening that’s “too cool” to miss, according to the committee.
Food, fun and music will be inspired by the 1970s: big hair, platform shoes and bell-bottoms are optional.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and tickets, which are available online at www.wicc.ca , are $40.00 per person.

Guy Carpenter & Company has introduced its casualty cat model, enabling casualty insurers and reinsurers to track hidden exposures throughout their portfolios more effectively.
The model, developed jointly with Arium, Ltd., will allow companies to develop plans for protecting their capital.
“Casualty risk is rarely linear and often difficult to mitigate, due to its potential to affect insureds across multiple lines of business, triggering large payments and negatively impacting balance sheets,” George Carrington, managing director and head of Guy Carpenter’s professional liability global specialty, said in a release. “Though the industry has long been aware of the potential ‘domino effect’ of various casualty scenarios, until now there has been no tested approach to managing this threat, due to complex, insufficient data and a lack of adequate models.”
The model allows insurers and reinsurers to study single- and multi-peril casualty catastrophe risks in the context of their broader risk management strategies, the release notes.
