Michael Donoghue, president and CEO of Allstate Canada, has announced his retirement.
Chris Kiah, assistant field vice president in the southeast region for Allstate Corporation, will take over the role.
Donoghue and Kiah will work together through the transition until Donoghue’s departure.
Having served at the helm of Allstate Canada for the last seven years, and a total of 38 years with Allstate Corporation, Donoghue has “successfully guided the organization through some of the most difficult insurance market conditions in Canadian history, eventually driving solid returns and achieving growth above the industry average,” the company said in a press release.
Kiah joined Allstate Corporation in 1996 with an insurance and finance background.
Most recently he served as assistant field vice president for the Southeast region.
Donaghue will be retiring from his post as IBC chair, as well. IBC’s deputy chair, Rowan Saunders, president and CEO at RSA, will become the new chair subject to board approval.

Gore Mutual now provides both upload and download functionality for brokers between Policy Works and Gore Mutual’s GoBroker portal.
The Policy Works’ data exchange program, launched last spring, offers integration and single sign-on upload capacity for users.
The program has now been expanded to include download capacity, as well.
A select group of brokers are already taking advantage of this new capability, Gore Mutual noted in a release. The download will be extended to all customers in the new Policy Works release later this fall.
