What’s New: In Brief (November 20, 2008)

Policy Works Inc. has released a second white paper in a campaign to communicate with commercial brokers.
The white paper, ‘To Trust or Not To Trust: 7 Tactics to Help Brokers Build Trust,’ investigates why consumers have feelings of distrust towards the insurance industry.
It further examines the concept of trust as a multi-factor construct and offers seven tactics to help brokers build trust with prospects and customers.

Aviva Canada president and CEO Robin Spencer and Jack Lee of BFL Canada Inc. received the first annual Toronto Insurance Conference (TIC) Awards of Excellence during the 53rd Annual Black Tie Dinner on Nov. 12.
The awards recognize recipients for their outstanding contributions to the property and casualty insurance industry in 2008.
Spencer won the award for an insurer and Lee was recognized in his role as a broker. Lee is the vice president and associate and national marketing manager of BFL Canada Inc.
Nominations were submitted by the TIC membership.
