Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. has made a number of organizational changes, including the promotion of Bill Johnstone from his current role as vice president of Greater Toronto Area and Global Technical Services to the position of senior vice president of Global Technical Services (GTS) for the Americas.
Johnstone will continue to be the GTS leader in Canada, but will now also be responsible for establishing policy, marketing and business development for GTS in the remainder of the Americas.
Other personnel changes include:

  • Claudine Davoodi has been promoted to the position of director of operations in Quebec.
  • Sheri Martinello has been promoted to vice president of Risk Management Services (RMS).
  • Walter Waugh, vice president of operations for the Prairies region, has been promoted to vice president of operations for Western Canada.
  • Jim Eso, vice president of operations for British Columbia, will relocate from B.C. to Ontario and will become vice president of national property and casualty.
  • Brent Hackett has been promoted to vice president of operations for the Ontario Region.
  • Rod McDonald will transfer from his role as assistant vice president of operations for the Ontario South West region to the position of assistant vice president of branch operations for the Ontario Region.
  • Reno Daigle, Crawford’s assistant vice president of operations for Ontario North East, will transfer to the position of director of quality and customer service for the Ontario Region.

Ninety-eight per cent of the 1,007 dog and cat owners surveyed by RSA said they don’t have pet insurance despite the fact that more than a quarter of those said their pet had suffered an injury that resulted in costly veterinarian care.
The research, commissioned by RSA and conducted by Angus Reid, also showed 55% of the pet owners said they would be likely to get pet insurance if it could be easily added on to their existing property policy.
Based on the research, RSA has launched new pet insurance coverage available on RSA’s property insurance policies in all provinces except Quebec and British Columbia.
The new policy can be added to new and existing policies; it allows a consumer to be reimbursed up to a certain limit for veterinarian medical fees incurred as a result of an accident involving their cat or dog.
