The most anxious winter drivers are in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, according to the TD Insurance Winter Driving Poll.
Across Canada, 52% say they are anxious about winter driving while in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, anxiety plagues 63% of drivers during the winter.
Despite any nervousness, 81% of residents in Manitoba and Saskatchewan consider themselves to be good drivers.
Residents in these provinces are more likely to drive slower in poor conditions (99% vs. 92% nationally), allow for extra time to where they are going (96% vs. 85% nationally) and check road conditions (90% vs. 81% nationally), the poll found.
Despite any nervousness about driving on winter roads, only 32% use snow tires as compared to 59% nationally.
