Chubb Insurance has been named one of ‘Canada’s 50 Best Employers’ for the tenth year in a row by The Globe & Mail’s Report on Business.
Companies are rated based on a survey that measures employee engagement and corporate management’s alignment with employee perceptions.
Hewitt Associates conducts the annual study.
Chubb’s ranking reflected a noteworthy increase in engagement to 83%, one of their highest totals ever, according to a Chubb release.
This comes on the heels of a similar improvement in 2009 and pushed Chubb to a 16th place on the list.
“What better validation is there for the quality of our organization as a business and employer?” Ellen Moore, CEO of Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, said in a release. “We view this as an imperative and are extremely pleased that the employee feedback confirms we are doing the right things and addressing issues that matter to them. We simply must, in order to retain what we believe is the best staff in the industry.”

Charles H. Ogburn, a board member and executive director at the international investment firm Arcapita Inc., has been named non-executive chairman of the board of directors for Crawford & Company, effective Jan. 1, 2010.
He replaces Thomas W. Crawford, former president and CEO of Crawford & Company, who stepped down as chairman effective Dec. 31, 2009.
Ogburn was elected to the Crawford board in February 2009, bringing a wealth of international business experience to the company. He is responsible for Arcapita’s corporate investment line of business.
Arcapita is an international investment firm with locations in Bahrain, London, Singapore and Atlanta.
