Willis clients and associates will have access to developments related to the Ebola virus through the company’s newly launched Disease Response Center microsite.

The one-stop portal on Willis.com – which will be updated as information develops – offers a comprehensive set of resources to help firms prepare their workplaces for the Ebola threat, notes a statement from Willis, a global risk advisor, insurance and reinsurance broker.

Included is information from official resources, such as the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and the American Medical Association. As well, clients and associates will have access to Willis Client Advisories to help guide firms through potential workplace risks, human resources considerations, travel alerts and workplace restrictions, the statement adds.

“The threat of the outbreak underscores the importance for firms to establish robust emergency preparedness and business continuity plans,” Marc Hindman, Willis Risk Control and Claim Advocacy Practice Leader, says in the statement.

Currently, most workers in the United States are unlikely to encounter Ebola virus or individuals with Ebola hemorrhagic fever, Willis reports. However exposure to the virus or someone with EHF may be more likely in certain sectors, including the health care, mortuary and airline industries, the statement adds.
