WINMAR Franchise Corp. announced Tuesday it is partnering with flood prevention solutions firm INFLOTROLIX to better serve the needs of insurers and property owners alike by helping to bring down water-related claims costs.

Water damage losses continue to escalate Canada-wide, WINMAR reports

The national partnership will see WINMAR making use of INFLOTROLIX’s AQUA-PROTEC, a state-of-the-art backwater valve system, and NOWA, its value-added leak detection system, notes a statement from WINMAR, a nation-wide franchisee network of property restoration specialists that services insurance companies, property management companies and corporations.

AQUA-PROTEC’s features include fully automated balloon inflation and deflation, a self-maintaining control panel with battery back-up, and a built-in alarm to alert homeowners, including smart phone technology and non-invasive installation, the statement notes.

WINMAR reports that water damage losses continue to escalate Canada-wide. The idea is to “reduce claims costs associated with flooding, whether from reoccurrence of sewer back-ups or water damage from internal plumbing and leaks, that, taken together, represent the greatest area of insurer payouts.”

The company points out that many municipalities across the country currently offer flood protection and prevention subsidy and rebate programs when equipment such as backwater valves professionally installed.

WINMAR reports that the company – which provides additional assistance to residential and commercial clients both directly and in conjunction with insurer programs – is starting to see, among other responses, sewer back-up discounts, lowering of deductibles and increased sub-limits.
