CARSTAR Automotive announces executive appointments

CARSTAR Automotive Canada Inc. announced Tuesday new executive appointments. Michael Macaluso (pictured), previously chief operating officer, is now president while MJ Marshall is chief financial officer.

Lisa Mercanti-Ladd – appointed executive vice president in January, 2013 – continues in that role, the company said Tuesday. Mercanti-Ladd (pictured, below right) played a central role in launching CARSTAR in Canada and has been with the organization since its inception and is also on CARSTAR’s board of directors.

As president, Macaluso “will continue to lead the overall strategic direction and day to day management” of CARSTAR, the Hamilton-based auto collision repair firm stated. He joined CARSTAR in 2008 as manager of insurance relations and has since held the positions of director of quality systems, AVP of operations and most recently chief operating officer..

Marshall (pictured, below left) joined CARSTAR in October, 2005 as controller. She was appointed vice president of finance in January, 2013.

Macaluso will report directly to Sam Mercanti, CARSTAR’s chief executive officer. Mercanti-Ladd and Marshall will continue to report to Macaluso.

Macaluso, who studied business and economics at London’s University of Western Ontario, sits on the Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA)’s collision council and in 2014 was named one of Hamilton’s “Top 40 Under 40” business leaders.

Founded in Hamilton, Ontario in 1995, CARSTAR Collision & Glass Centres has grown from eight to more than 215 locations across Canada. CARSTAR repairs approximately 150,000 vehicles per year within Canada.
