Montreal-based EGR Inc. has announced it is continuing to grow with the acquisition of Labrecque, Brouillette & Castelli Inc., a move the company reports will bolster its positioning in Quebec, especially in Montreal.

The new team includes brokers specializing in risk marketing, prevention specialists, legal experts and claims adjustors

EGR – a company created January 1, 2015 by damage insurance firms EssOR Insurance, Pratte Morrissette Inc. and Assuraction Inc – has expanded its insurance premium volume by several million dollars with the acquisition of Brouillette & Castelli Inc., better known as Castelli Insurance.

EGR reports in a statement that the 14 employees of Labrecque, Brouillette & Castelli Inc. joined EGR’s Montreal office Apr. 30. This new team includes brokers specializing in risk marketing, prevention specialists, legal experts and claims adjustors, the statement adds.

Welcoming the new employees, EGR president Louis Bélanger says “we know that like us, they are deeply committed to representing their customers’ interests. This transaction launches our strategy for growth in Montreal and demonstrates that the pooling of our expertise under EGR is paying off as expected.”

With insurance premiums estimated at more than $150 million, EGR has 10 offices and 189 employees, including a team of specialized brokers in every major economic hub along the Quebec City-Montreal corridor.
