GE ERC has appointed Rick Smith to head its new global property & casualty reinsurance business. Smith is formerly the president and CEO of the company’s P&C Re Americas division.

The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Services (OSFI) has named Donna D’Angelo Pasteris as assistant superintendent, corporate services sector. She will head up the regulator’s human resources, financial and corporate planning, professional development, IT management and administrative services operations.

Defender Fleet Services has several new appointments, including Greg Carson as president, Glenn Brosius as vice president of sales and Ken Jacobs as COO. The Melville, NY-based company provides fleet services including risk management.

Industrial Alliance has appointed Michel Laurin as president and COO of its subsidiary, Industrial Alliance Home and Auto Insurance. Laurin brings 15 years experience in the general insurance industry to his new position, including as vice president, actuarial and technical services at Meloche-Monnex.

The Insurance Bureau of Canada has named Stan Griffin as its new CEO, following the retirement of George Anderson. Griffin has been with the IBC since 1975 in a variety of roles, most recently as executive vice president of regional operations.
