The Co-operators Group has named Kevin Daniel its new senior vice president, finance, and CFO. Daniel has been with The Co-operators for 16 years in a variety of roles and succeeds Peter Crawford, who retires in April after more than 15 years in the position.

The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) has appointed Dan Danyluk to the new position of CEO. Managing partner of a brokerage for the past 19 years, Danyluk is also past president of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO). He was formerly a research economist with the Ontario Ministry of Labour and executive director of Junior Achievement of London, ON.

PPG Refinish Canada has named Don Swick as MVP district manager, to develop and oversee the company’s “MVP” program to help shops increase productivity and profitability. Swick has been with PPG for four years, and was previously manager of Chrysler Collision Center in Saskatoon.

XL Winterthur International America Insurance Company has appointed Dennis Nishikawa as sales and marketing manager for North America. He will also serve as manager of the company’s Los Angeles office.

After more than 50 years, Montreal broker R.J. (Bob) Laws is divesting his brokerage. He is a past president and founding member of the National Society of Fellows, and graduated with his FCIP designation in 1965.
