Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. held its 13th annual Crawford Classic charity golf tournament on Sept. 12, 2007, at the Royal Ontario Golf Club. Golfing during unseasonably cold weather has become somewhat of a Crawford tradition. This year was no different, as clients and employees braved the temperature to raise more than Cdn$10,000 for Crawford Cares, benefiting the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC). After the tournament dinner, Steve Anderson, Crawford’s senior vice president of corporate markets and administration, presented a cheque in the amount of Cdn$10,000 to Jean Faulkner, a member of WICC’s board of directors. The cheque represents a “down payment” on Crawford’s annual fundraising campaign. It also represents a portion of the amount raised by employees over the past year through fundraisers, payroll deductions and the funds raised from the day’s golf tournament.
