EGI Financial Holdings Inc. has appointed Alvin Sharma as the company’s new chief financial officer, effective Sept. 24.
Sharma previously has held roles at RBC Capital Markets, American Life Insurance Co. and Sun Life Financial. He has expertise in investor relations, regulatory and rating agency management, capital markets, investments, mergers and acquisitions, capital management and insurance accounting, according to Mississauga, Ont.-based EGI.
Sharma is also a chartered accountant (UK) and a charted financial analyst, with an MBA from the University of Michigan.
“I’m thrilled to have someone of Alvin’s calibre join the EGI team. I’m looking forward to working with him to continue to realize the strategic goals of the company,” Steve Dobronyi, EGI’s CEO said in a statement.
EGI operates in the property and casualty industry in Canada, the United States and Europe, and focuses primarily on non-standard auto insurance and other specialty products.
