Benfield launches online Storm Centre

Benfield has launched its online Storm Centre, a real-time portal for up-to-the- minute information on current and past tropical cyclone activity.
The Storm Centre, which replaces the Hurricane and Typhoon Season CD, is a portal for information on current and past tropical cyclone activity. Incorporating a real-time storm tracker powered by the Benfield-sponsored Tropical Storm Risk, it covers significant storms in the Atlantic, North East Pacific and North West Pacific basins, plus it provides an historical archive.
Regional summaries and individual storm reports provide more detailed event information, including damage and financial loss.
The online site includes a world map that displays the position of currently active storms, as well as information about the wind speeds and timelines of the tropical storms or hurricanes.
Users can click on the map or navigate from the menu to select storms from different years. Event information on current and past storms and related research can be accessed using the links and menus.
