CAA Insurance to offer accident forgiveness endorsement in Nova Scotia

CAA Insurance has received approval to offer an accident forgiveness endorsement in Nova Scotia.
The ‘Forgive and Forget’ endorsement will provide clients with forgiveness for the first at-fault accident, meaning the incident will not affect the driver’s rating. To be eligible, drivers must have had no at-fault accidents in the previous six years.
The endorsement is not available:

• to occasional drivers;
• if there is a violation of any mandatory or policy condition in relation to the accident; or
• the driver is convicted of a major or serious offence under the Criminal Code of Canada in relation to the accident.

Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board has approved an amendment to CAA’s rate and classification system, allowing CAA to offer the endorsement as of Mar. 1, 2011 for new business and Apr. 1, 2011 for renewal business.
