Elliott Special Risks appoints Andre Paradis to manage Montreal office

Elliott Special Risks LP (ESR), a Markel International company, has appointed Andre Paradis as vice president and branch manager of the Montreal office. Paradis has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He began his career in 1985 at Travelers working both in personal and commercial lines. From 1989-2002, he held various senior roles at Zurich, including key management roles in Quebec and the eastern region. In 2002, he joined Markel Insurance Company of Canada (now Northbridge) as branch manager and was responsible for all of eastern Canada. ESR is a specialist insurer with offices in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. It was purchased in 2009 by Markel International Insurance Company Limited (MIICL), a London-based specialty property and casualty insurer.
