Executive changes at Aviva Canada

Aviva Canada has changed the structure of its senior executive team.
The following changes will come into effect on Feb. 4, 2008:
Ross Betteridge, executive vice president and chief operating officer, corporate partnerships and emerging markets, will continue in his role. He will have increased capacity to lead and execute long-term business strategies to grow the corporate partnerships portfolio, lead the broker service operations and seize opportunities for entry into emerging markets.
Bob Fitzgerald, executive vice president and chief marketing and underwriting officer, will be responsible for a central marketing team, pricing, personal lines underwriting, national commercial lines, brand and customer experience, government relations, corporate communications encompassing internal/external communications, media and public relations.
Greg Somerville, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Aviva Insurance, will move into a P&L role and be responsible for delivering the strategies and business plans of the Aviva commercial and surety business across Canada, together with the Aviva personal lines business in Quebec, the Atlantic and the West. He will also retain responsibility for reinsurance for the foreseeable future.
Maurice Tulloch, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Pilot, Traders, Elite, Scottish & York, and president of Pilot Insurance Company, will lead all Ontario broker personal lines businesses. He will be responsible for further strengthening the market position of Pilot Insurance Company, as well as Traders and Elite, across Canada. He will also be responsible for delivering the strategies and business plans of the Pilot, Traders, Elite, Scottish & York businesses. Tulloch’s focus will be to drive the profitable growth and operational efficiency of these businesses across Canada.
