The family of the late Arthur Despard has decided to postpone a previously-announced reception to celebrate his life.
The family originally planned to hold a reception on Saturday, May 20 (what would have been Despard’s 73rd birthday). However, since this date is the start of the Victoria Day holiday weekend, the gathering for friends and colleagues has been moved to Wednesday, June 21.
RIBO past president Art Despard passed away at the age of 72. He served on RIBO Council from 1994 to 2000 and contributed thereafter as a chairperson of RIBO’s discipline committee.
Despard had more than 50 years of insurance industry experience. He began his career working for an insurance company at an early age. He then switched to the brokerage side in 1965, when he became a registered insurance broker. Much of his career was spent working for Aon Reed Stenhouse.
The family’s June 21 reception will take place at the Despard home at 135 Baseline Road East, in London, Ontario, between 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
All are invited. Refreshments will be served. “Business casual” attire would be quite acceptable.
To help the family with their catering arrangements, it would be appreciated if you could let either of the following individuals know if you are planning to attend. Please send an e-mail to either Carol Giles (Carol.Giles@aon.ca) or Gordon Crutcher (Gordon@Crutcher.ca).
