Reiterating its commitment to Canadian insurance brokers, ING Insurance Canada has increased its involvement in the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) Broker Identity Program to Full Partner status.
Under the terms of this new status ING will provide more than double its financial support for the Broker Identity Program.
“This increased level of support from ING Insurance represents a significant vote of confidence for our branding program as well as for insurance brokers across the country,” IBAC CEO Dan Danyluk says. Danyluk adds that having ING step up to the financial plate will help spread IBAC’s message regarding the value brokers provide to insurance consumers.
Claude Dussault, president and CEO of ING Insurance, explains that it is extremely important to spread the broker value message right now, during the current Bank Act debate, which surrounds the issue of whether banks should be allowed to retail insurance from branches.
“We (ING Insurance) hope our increased level of participation will lead to even greater appreciation of the contribution brokers make,” Dussault says. “Included with our new level of sponsorship is the right to display the “BIP” logo in our promotional and branding materials, which we intend to do with pride.”
In addition to ING’s increased sponsorship role in the organizaiton, IBAC is also welcoming Markel Insurance Company of Canada as a first year investor in the Broker Identity Program.
Other insurers who have confirmed their continued commitment for 2006, as “Full Partners,” include: Aviva Canada, Economical Insurance Group, Royal & Sun Alliance, Pilot Insurance Company, Peace Hills Insurance, Red River Valley Insurance Company, and Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Company.
This commitment shown by “Full Partner” insurers “underlines the fundamental value that brokers and the broker network bring to both insurers and consumers,” according to IBAC.
