Insurance premium discounts offered in the U.S. for ozone disinfection

Food industry companies that choose to use ozone disinfection could see insurance premium discounts of as much as 15%.

The discounts would apply to food contamination and products recall coverage.

Eco-Safe Systems USA Inc. — manufacturer of a patent-pending system that produces ozonated water for food disinfection and water purification — is working with Kensington Insurance to offer a premium discount for food industry customers that use ozone disinfection with National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) International product registration.

Kensington Insurance has facilitated an expansion of insurance premium discounts for companies using ozone disinfection by adding Lloyds to its list of underwriters, Michael Elliot, CEO of Eco-Safe, says in a statement. “This initiative will be marketed directly to the food industry giants through the network of agents coordinated by Kensington,” Elliot says.

Beyond benefiting from lower premium costs, food industry companies using ozone disinfection can lower their legal expenses related to food-borne illness outbreak issues, “while providing their customers with safer and enhanced quality food,” Elliot says.
