PartnerRe Ltd. (NYSE, Euronext: PRE) says it expects losses of approximately $50 million to $70 million related to the tornado outbreak that affected large areas of the United States during the last week of April 2011.
Loss estimates are pre-tax, net of retrocession and reinstatement premiums, and relate to all reinsurance contracts and insurance-linked securities expected to be affected by these events.
The company says the net loss for this event will be recorded in its 2011 Q2 results and will primarily affect its catastrophe, North America, and global (non-U.S.) specialty sub-segments.
