Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company has started up in Toronto, according to 2006 Q1 licensing data released by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO).
The company is licensed for the following lines of business: Boiler and Machinery, Fidelity, Legal Expense, Liability, Property and Surety.
Trisura’s CEO is Robert E. Taylor.

Glengarry Farmers’ Mutual Fire Insurance Company and Prescott Mutual Insurance Company have amalgamated to form Glengarry Mutual Insurance Company in the one 2006 Q1 amalgamation reported by FSCO.

FSCO has reported canceling, after “satisfactory arrangements were made for any insurance liabilities,” the licenses of Bankers Life and Casualty and the reciprocal Metro Public Education Insurance Exchange. Both insurers have discontinued operations.

Munich Reinsurance Company of Canada, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, and Swiss Reinsurance Company have all deleted ‘workman’s compensation’ from their insurance classes, FSCO reports.

During 2006 Q1, FSCO reviewed and approved 1,336 new individual agent licences and 3,407 agent renewals.
In addition, FSCO approved and processed 74 new corporate agent licences, 277 corporate renewals, 36 new individual adjuster licences, and 22 individual adjuster renewals. There were 3 new corporate adjuster licence applications.
