The Co-Operators has teamed up with Juno award-winner Mitch Dorge, former drummer for the Emmy-nominated Crash Test Dummies, to bring his Life Choices campaign to high schools across the country. The presentation, tailored to meet the needs of the various schools, and typically topics covered include drug and alcohol awareness, driving safety, goal setting and safe sex. It was a natural fit, Dorge said of his partnership with The Co-Operators. They were looking for innovative ways to engage young people and offer them alternative perspectives on important decisions. Kathy Bardswick, president and CEO of The Co-Operators, said in a statement that as a successful professional musician, Dorge is sure to be a positive influence on young people. Mitch is an energetic personality with a great message, she said. Were glad to support his efforts by bringing his unique message to a broader audience.

At a count of 603 tickets purchased, 95% of tickets have now been sold for the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC)-Ontarios upcoming 11th Annual WICC Ontario Gala dinner. The special WICC-Ontario event entitled, Fire and Ice, will occur at the Westin Harbour Castle Conference Centre, on April 10. WICC would like to ensure that the evening is sold-out and is urging all supporters who have yet done so to please purchase tickets today. Registration for the event is solely via the Web site, www.wicc.ca.
