The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) has announced the appointment of Steven Kaukinen as president of the organization. Most recently he served as the president and CEO of Baldwin Janzen Insurance Services in Vancouver. Prior to that post, Kaukinen was the vice president, competitive insurance at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. We believe this well-rounded background, coupled with a proven track record of successes in the areas of systems and business process innovation make Steve uniquely qualified to continue the evolution of CSIO on behalf of our industry, Bob Fitzgerald, chairman of the CSIOs board.

The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) has announced the availability of the XML Implementation A Handbook to Getting Started. The guide has been prepared to provide an overview of CSIO XML Standards for the purpose of assisting members of the organization with XML implementation, explains a CSIO release. The concepts outlined in this guide have been modelled within the context of the CSIO XML Standards and based on the recommendations and guidelines documented throughout the set of standards. A copy of the guide can be downloaded from the CSIO website at:http://www.csio.com/en/perstand/csiostands.html
