James Giffen has been promoted to director of the Global Technical Services (GTS) division with Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc.
Giffen has nearly 25 years of experience and currently manages Crawford’s Toronto GTS branch.
He is an executive general adjuster and has multi-line claims expertise with specialization in major commercial/ industrial property, fidelity, false pretense and lessors’ contingent losses.
He is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI).

Hannover Re has estimated net claims of roughly €25 million (roughly Cnd$40 million) from the Air France Flight 447 crash on June 1, according to BestWire.
The figure is a preliminary estimate and there is no further information at this time, Stefan Schulz, head of corporate communications at Hannover Re, told BestWire.
Previously, Axa had confirmed to BestWire that it was the lead insurer on the plane.
The plane was roughly 350 miles off the coast of Brazil, en route to Paris, when it vanished from the radar screens. All 216 passengers and 12 crew membes were killed in the crash, the cause of which remains a mystery, BestWire reports.
