TORONTO, ON, Feb. 7, 2019 — 30 Forensic Engineering, Canada’s leading and fully-independent multi-disciplinary forensics firm, is pleased to announce the launch of our Flood Risk Assessment service. This offering was developed in response to client demand and under this new service, we will provide the necessary information needed to identify flood risks and establish appropriate flood mitigation procedures.
Flooding events have become more frequent and severe due to well documented effects of climate change. As a result, a flood risk assessment becomes an invaluable tool to recognize the consequences of flooding and brings into focus the need to include flood mitigation measures into your risk management plan. 30 Forensic Engineering has been involved with numerous CAT events to recognize the value of good preparation and investment in loss prevention. To be prepared for such events and to avoid the need for rushed preparations, both residential and commercial property owners and managers must understand the risks associated with their specific situation. Together, we can help you anticipate the extremes of flooding with a risk assessment that will ensure that:
• Specific flood risk vulnerabilities are identified
• Tangible action plans are proposed, related to preventative maintenance, property upgrades, and emergency equipment procurement and storage
• Resilience and community-wide considerations are included in recommendations
• Help reduce claims costs associated with a flood event
Risk Assessment
• Site-specific topographical mapping
• Assessment of storm surge and rainfall risk areas
• Review of structural features – windows, doors, access points
Mitigation Planning
• Identification of preventative maintenance opportunities to landscaping & structure
• Proposal for permanent and/or temporary flood mitigation equipment
• Review of broader resilience upgrade opportunities
